Steam has a current fire risk assessment (see below) which includes routes of egress. These routes have been provided to the event management team to ensure the plans for GWTS do not obstruct them. Steam management will inspect the event set up to ensure it complies.

The plan for GWTS has been designed to ensure minimal obstructions and points of congregation and that sufficient space is provided to allow members of the public to view whilst stationary without obstructing movement.

Any temporary fencing used to delineate the event area / prevent unticketed entry that is potentially preventing movement away from the building in the event of an emergency will be monitored by ETMs and not secured.

The event will adhere to the Steam Museum Fire Safety Policy Fire Management Evacuation Plan to avoid confusion and allow the venue management to assume control. GWTS team members will only assist where requested.
