All skin piercers (tattoo artist and body piercers) at GWTS are registered and certified by the local authority in their normal working location. International Artists have demonstrated the same and / or passed a qualification accepted by the local authority. This demonstrates they have a working knowledge of infection control, waste handling and client care. Each practitioner has been verified through previous work by the event management team to be a professional operator with experience.
Each Skin Piercer will obtain a Temporary Licence from Swindon Borough Council prior to the event and submit a copy of this to Ingenious Events.
Those without a temporary or permanent licence will not be permitted to carry out procedures at the event.
As skin piercing presents a greater risk than normal activity all skin piercers will be required to work to the procedures in the below guidance sheet. This sheet includes mitigations from the risk assessment but is compiled in format that is easier to follow for the event. They will be monitored throughout the event by the CM to ensure compliance.
Below this document is the SBC bylaws. These are similar, if not identical to most local authority bylaws but each skin piercer will be instructed to make themselves familiar with the document.
